Tembo House Hotel is situated in the heart of Stone Town in Zanzibar, at the picturesque seafront. The hotel offers self-contained bedrooms with air-conditioning and a refrigerator, telephone and satellite TV.
Tembo House Hotel is a magnificent historic building with a colourful history (in 1834, it was the American Consulate and by 1884, it was the offices of “Cowasjee Dinshaw and Partners”, a famous trading company).
Next door to the Tembo House Hotel is the former British Consulate, where Dr. Livingstone's body was brought in 1874 and where Mahatma Gandhi stayed for a few weeks in 1930.

Tembo House Hotel is one of the few hotels in Stone Town with a pool, and during the hotter months of the year, this is essential. It is also less than half an hours drive from the airport and a great base for various Zanzibar excursions such as Spice and Stone Town Tours.

Guest rooms are furnished with rare wood-carved furniture and unique Swahili beds. Most of the rooms have balconies overlooking the beach or the swimming pool courtyard. Hot and cold water is available in all rooms.
Whilst staying at the Tembo House Hotel, guests may enjoy access to laundry services, an internet cafe and a restaurant which offers a variety of food.
