
This four centuries old private home, located in the heart of Stonetown, completed remodel construction in 1993 to become an overnight guest hotel. In 2005, a new wing was added which included such changes as amenity upgrades to rooms and an outdoor pool.
Most guest rooms consist of A/C, ceiling fan, mosquito net, cable television, mini refrigerator, ensuite bathroom with hot water showers, hair dryer, telephone and verandas on upper level rooms. Guest may reserve single, twin, double, and triple occupancy configurations. A penthouse suite may also be booked if available. Please note that this property does not have an elevator, so a first floor booking will be made at guests' request if available.
Dining is available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The cuisine consists of Zanzibar dishes and some international fare. Restaurant meal times are posted, however, light snacks and refreshments can be purchased throughout the day. The restaurant is located poolside and no alcohol is served or allowed on the premises.
Upon request, a private supper may be arranged for guests on the rooftop terrace. These exclusive diners can take in views of a star-filled sky or the settling sights and sounds of Stonetown.
Amenities for guests to enjoy include a small in-ground pool, free Wi-Fi, safe deposit boxes big enough to store laptop and camera equipment, and laundry service at a fee. Dhow Palace is best suited for the mid level traveler.
