Eco Lodge is a tented camp located in the northwest corridor of the Serengeti. 10 exclusive tents make up this accommodation, which is situated on a hillside with views over the plains of the Serengeti. Each tent is appropriately spaced away from the main entrance and lodge, so as to allow for a quieter stay. There is no fence around the property, thereby allowing wildlife to roam freely through the lodge grounds. An escort may accompany any guests from the main lodge to their tent during day or night hours. The lodge is run on solar power for overhead lighting and hot water. A generator is run during designated times of the day for electrical power outlet usage.
Each tent consists of a double bed, mosquito net, en-suite bath with hot shower, veranda and outlets for use while generators are running. Internet usage and laundry are available at an extra cost and can be arranged with reception. Single and Double occupancy may also be accommodated.
Dining consists of local dishes with an emphasis on seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables. Meals are served in the constructed dining room or outdoors near the open-air campfire on barbecue nights, accompanied by a show of Massai dance and singing (when participants are available). An array of select alcoholic beverages are available at an extra cost during meals or at the on-site bar. Arrangements should be made a head of time to accommodate those guests with dietary restrictions.
Eco Lodge accepts payment in MasterCard and Visa (network permitting), as well as USD and Tanzanian Shilling cash. This lodge is suited for the upper mid-level traveler.
