Rhino Lodge is set back from the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, near a forest where elephant and buffalo like to feed. It was built to cater to the budget traveler, as other hotels around the rim of the crater are more expensive.
There are 24 single, double and triple rooms, each having an en-suite bathroom, modest furnishings and a private verandah which looks out onto the green forest.
The lounge boasts a cosy open fireplace where guests can gather and warm up with a hot chocolate or cold beer. The food is simple yet tasty and the staff are friendly and courteous.
If guests are looking for an affordable step up from camping, Rhino Lodge is the perfect place to stay. We recommend that guests bring warm clothes, as the evenings and mornings can be quite cool, since Rhino Lodge is on the crater rim.
