Olduvai Camp is located in south Serengeti within view of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The camp consists of 17 tents arranged around the perimeter of low lying hills. Each tent gives amazing views of the flat plains leading to the crater rim of Ngorongoro.
Each tent consists of a twin or double bed, en-suite bathroom with flushing toilet, basin and hot water shower. A veranda with seating looks out over the plains. Electricity is produced by solar power and a generator is used for back up in case of emergency.
Common areas such as the bar, restaurant, and public washroom are all built into the hill rock. A platform at the highest point of the hill may be utilized by guests to observe wildlife through a telescope or night sky viewing.
Olduvai Camp employs local Masai as guards and guides for the property. A walk around the camp may be arranged at check-in, to offer guests a more intimate connection with the location and to learn more about its natural and manmade origins.
Olduvai Camp is ideal for the mid level traveler.
