Losirwa Camp is located on the northeastern part of Lake Manyara close to the gate. Losirwa means “an Eland” in the Maasai language. As at guest, enjoy an evening sitting on the balcony watching the sun setting below the Rift Valley wall. Or take in the flocks of flamingos on the lake or the zebras grazing below.

Losirwa Camp boasts beautiful, raised luxury tents, with spectacular views of the lake and looking down onto the national park. Each tent is built from natural materials in tune with their environment. Water is tanked in on a weekly basis as there is no natural supply, but hot water is available and electricity is supplied by solar power. Simple and elegant, the rooms are decorated in warm colours with stylish en-suite bathrooms.
There are touches of local craftsmanship everywhere, as exemplified in the woven rugs and bed frames made from African Ebony wood. The beds are wonderfully comfortable and perfect to sink into after a long day’s safari. Alternatively, guests may sit out on their private veranda in one of the wicker chairs and watch the wildlife pass by. Wildebeest, African buffalo, hyenas and zebra have been known to wander underneath the rooms, providing a closeup wildlife experience.

Guests may relax or sip cocktails by the pool while the animals stroll by. Losirwa is the perfect place to feel the true atmosphere of the African plains.
A share of the profits of Losirwa go toward the African Nature Conservation Trust, a non-profit organization. In addition to building a school and clinic for the local community, the Trust’s goals are to conserve the extraordinary ecosystem in Tarangire-Manyara, part of one of the world’s most outstanding habitats.
The restaurant offers fresh local produce, freshly baked bread, fruits and vegetables in season and great home cooked meals. There is also a wide selection of South African wines, Tanzanian beers, whiskeys, spirits, soft drinks and sodas, and cocktails made by the bartender.
At night, lamps provide a warm glow, where guests may sit around the bonfire and trade stories. Enjoy a meal and drinks in this peaceful atmosphere while catching up on some of the days exciting events.
